WinXP boot problem? Try this one.

Have you experienced your PC wont boot from WinXP? Problem with your boot.ini probably. Try this.

1. Boot from your WinXP cd.
2. Press "R" to go recovery console.
3. type this command, where x is your cdrom
a. copy x:\i386\ntldr C:\
b. copy x:\i386\ntdetect.com C:\
4.Type bootcfg /rebuild(this will fix your boot.ini)
5. Reboot

How to repair a Win XP installation?

Here's a small tutorial on how to repair your windows xp,

1. Change your boot device priority from Hard Disk to CDROM in your BIOS.
2. Insert your WinXP installer cd and boot from it.
3. From "Welcome To Setup" screen, you'll see this options to choose,
This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft Windows XP to run on your computer:

To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.

To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.

To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.

4. Press Enter to start the windows setup.
5. Do Not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R",(you Do Not want to load Recovery Console). I repeat, Do Notchoose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R".
6. Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair. If Repair is not one of the options, END setup.
7. the installation will continue like a your are doing a fresh and clean install. But all the existing program you had install before will be still intact.
